William Mesa

Voornamelijk bekend als visuele effecten-specialist. Oprichter van visuele effecten-bedrijf Flash Film Works in 1993. Hij was verantwoordelijk voor de effecten in vele tientallen films, waaronder "Outland" (1981), "Inside the Third Reich" (1982), "Two of a Kind" (1983), "Stand by Me" (1986), "976-EVIL" (1988), "UHF" (1989), "Darkman" (1990), "Army of Darkness" (1992), "The Fugitive" (1993), "Quicksilver Highway" (1997), "Deep Blue Sea" (1999), "Red Planet" (2000), "The Adventures of Pluto Nash" (2002), "The Italian Job" (2003), "The Last Samurai" (2003), "Into the Blue" (2005), Blood Diamond" (2006), "The Day the Earth Stood Still" (2008) en "Clash of the Titans" (2010).

Hij ontving in 1988 de Technical Achievement Award, een ere-Oscar voor vernieuwende filmtechnieken. Hij won ook 3 Emmy’s, onder andere voor zijn effecten voor de miniserie "The Pacific" (2010).
